 We at the Rist Canyon Vineyard have learned much about growing grapes in marginal, cool climate areas. We are still learning. It would be nice if those wishing to grow grapes in marginal areas didn't have to go through all the trials and errors needed to produce a reliable crop, year after year. We would like to pass the benefits of our knowledge on to those trying to grow grapes sucessfully and those who wish to grow a few vines for table fruit or wine. We will gladly give advice and consulting to those who want solid information.
Rist Canyon Vineyards. I am currently consulting with Chad and Tonja Treece of the Mount Lamborn Vineyard in Hotchkiss, Colorado. They have seven acres of riesling, gewurtztraminer, and cab france vines. They are in the process of expanding the acreage of riesling and adding pinot noir in 2006.
